‘Enśe’ came from the word ‘ensemble’, which means ‘together’ in French.
The name of the brand is an expression of our desire to make everyone who comes into contact with Enśe
– be it the people who make the products or the people who use them – happy, together.
Every product is handcrafted to the highest quality with the best material, yet at the same time they are not all rigidly perfect or flawless, making them relatable and loveable.
The Enśe team works together everyday with trustworthy craftspeople in Japan – who have inherited valuable craft making skills from their predecessors – to create products that will inspire and be loved for a long time to come.
The main type of leather used in most of our products is cow hide, which is specifically manufactured for Enśe products in a leather-making factory located in Himeji, Hyogo Prefecture. The factory has been in the business for over a hundred years, producing high-quality leather which texture fades beautifully with time and is also environmentally friendly. We believe leather looks most beautiful when its wrinkles and marks are all intact, so we do very minimal processing and coating with it. Material other than leather is of course used in our products as well, and we treat them with as much respect and dignity as we do with leather, allowing the natural textures to shine and complement the person wearing them.
In October 2012, we opened our first brick-and-mortar store right after we kickstarted the Enśe brand. The store, located on the 2nd floor of a quiet building in Osaka’s Kyomachibori, welcomed guests with its relaxed and casual interior. 4 years later, in 2016, we felt the need to express our deep admiration for the product creation process, and began to carry brands in the store that showcase the impressive workmanship of the people behind the products.
We want to be more than just a shop front selling things; we aspire our brand and space to be where people meet, connect and create.
The Enśe Jewelry line was established by our designer who switched from designing bags to jewelry. Working tirelessly together with skilled craftsmen, her intricate designs express her unique approach to beauty and innate curiosity for the world around her.
Her journey towards being a jewelry designer began in the summer of 2013, and it all started with producing a single leather bangle. Since then, she has not looked back and continue to design and make stunning pieces for Enśe Jewelry. Using mainly 18K gold and diamonds in her work, Enśe Jewelry pieces contain in them the beauty of nature, femininity, and at the same time, a little sense of humor, which makes them elegant wearable everyday pieces.
